Importance Of Heating And Cooling Your Factory

Posted on

If you manage a factory then you need to keep your workers as comfortable as possible. If your employees aren't kept comfortable while they are working, then it will show in your quotas. One of the things that you want to do is to be sure you are keeping the factory at a comfortable temperature. During the winter, you want to keep them warm and during the summer you want to keep them cool. This article will explain how important it is for you to make sure your employees are working in a comfortable environment with regards to the factory's temperature.

Prevent sweating employees

During the summer, you want to do what you can to prevent your employees from excessively sweating by keeping them cool with a good air conditioning system. If they are sweating a lot, then the sweat can get on your brand new items and if you deal with things like white fabrics, this can lead to them getting dirty. Also, they will get sweat in their eyes, which stings and will cause them to slow down on their production. If they need to grip parts and they have sweaty hands, then this will be problematic as well.

Prevent heat exhaustion

When your employees are doing manual labor in a factory without air conditioning during the hot months, then then there is a risk of some of them suffering from heat exhaustion. If they do get heat exhaustion and they continue trying to work through it, then they will be putting themselves at risk of heat stroke, which is a very dangerous condition that can even prove to be fatal in some instances.

Prevent stiff joints

If you have your employees working in a cold factory during the wintertime, then many of those employees will suffer from stiff joints. This will be especially true for your employees that have problems like arthritis or old injuries that can become painful in the cold weather. When your employees are aching and experiencing pain, you can't expect them to be as productive.

Prevent slow movement

While people can stay warmer by moving more, most people choose to huddle inward and not move so much when they are cold. When your employees do this, they won't be getting much work done. Therefore, you are going to want to be sure you have heat coming into your factory so your workers will be productive throughout the winter for you.
